It is strongly recommended to find out whether the  property or area you are
moving to has previous flooding issues

                                              Check for flooding - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

1. Checking the flood zone maps: These maps are typically available on the federal government's website, as well as the websites of state and local authorities. They can give you an idea of whether the property or area is in a flood-prone zone.
2. Talking to neighbours and locals: Reach out to people in the area and ask them about their experiences with flooding. They may be able to provide valuable insights that can help you make an informed decision. 3. Consulting with a real estate agent: A reputable real estate agent should be able to provide you with information on the property's flood history and any improvements or measures that have been taken to mitigate flooding.
4. Reviewing historical records: You can also look up historical records of flooding events in the area. Some government agencies, such as the National Weather Service, may have data on past floods that can inform your decision. Remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry. Taking time to research the flood history of a property or area can help you make a more informed decision and avoid potential problems down the road.
